Support is ending for Windows XP: Finally take advantage of the various possibilities of thin client computing in combination with eLux™
Thin clients are the end devices (components) in a server-based network without moving parts like hard drives or fans integrated. Specifically they are end devices within a server based network. There is no data saved on this devices locally, everything is saved on a central server. IT Centralization is perfectly enabled by Cloud Computing and Server Virtualization. You have the choice: Use backend infrastructure from Citrix, VMWare or Microsoft HyperV. For the efficient use of thin clients within a network, a flexible and powerful operating system (thin client OS) is indispensable – like eLux™

Windows XP is for almost 13 years available on the market. According to current studies of the analysts from Net Applications Windows XP is currently still running on 37% of all computers worldwide. However, ticking of the clock gets louder and louder when it comes to “best-practice” migration process in many IT departments of companies still using Microsoft® Windows XP. In less than one year, from 8 April 2014 on, Microsoft® is going to discontinue the support of Windows XP and Office 2003 as well. After this time security patches or updates will no longer be provided. But today the need to eradicate or to avoid a potentially security threat as soon as possible is stronger than ever before. According to experts the discontinuation of Windows XP is a totally necessary step, since this operating system can no longer handle its many weak points. Increased danger of malware and the declining hardware support are only two of the many disadvantages of Windows XP. Now it is obvious migrating to a more current version of a Microsoft® operating system. However, such a classical migration process often turns out to be a difficult task with high failure potential, extreme time effort and enormous costs.
The discontinuation of Windows XP – see it as a wink! So, why not migrating to our hardware independent operating system eLux™? Benefit from the various advantages of Cloud Computing in connection with the economically and durable thin clients. This is easily and affordably possible with our software solutions Scout Enterprise and eLux™.
